Swooning Over Swinton

OMG. I. Die. Tilda Swinton's 2010 Pringle of Scotland ad pics, shot by Ryan McGinley, are out. Looking amazing, as usual and perhaps taking a note from Kate Lanphear's playbook? Either way, LOOKING GOOD, LADIES!

Yesteday's Adventure

Yesterday we drove around the southern part of the island. Starting in Elgol, we drove up to Broadford , through Kyleakin and road the Glenelg Ferry across to the mainland. The Glenelg Ferry is the last turntable ferry in all of Europe and was bought by the community after the owner decided to retire and put the ferry up for sale in 2004.

After crossing over into Glenelg, we drove up to Kyle of Lochalsh and made a couple stops along the way.

Checked out the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Stopped off at the Eilean Donan Castle where they had these (look familiar, Chad)...

We crossed the Skye Bridge and headed back home!

Boating!

Robin (1/2 of the amazing couple that I'm working for in Scotland) took me out on his 20 ft. fishing boat for a trip around the north westerly Scottish islands. Here's what it looked like!

There's Bonnie, it means 'life is good.'

Heading out.

Can you spot the cows?

We caught a friend and named him Ed.

Stopped for lunch on the other side of the island near the Black Cullin Mountains.

Boiling little Eddie up very soon...

I Know, I Know...

...I've been terrible lately. I'm sorry to any of you even still reading this. But I'm going to try and make up for it.

Scotland is tha Be$t and keeping me busy as a bee, or an indentured servant, whatever. Here are a couple shots of what's the haps so far..

Just the view from my room.

These guys are everywhere!

This is the dog that belongs to the village.

Daily Scotland Fun Fact

So, from June 9 - July 3, I'm off to Scotland! I'll be staying on the largest and most northerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland called the Isle of Skye and working for a charming couple who own a B&B and restaurant. According to Wikepedia,

"The island is renowned for its spectacular scenery, vibrant culture and heritage, and its abundant wildlife including the Golden Eagle, Red Deer and Salmon."

I'm excited to learn more! Here are some things I have to look forward to seeing,

Here's Portree Harbor!

And Dunvegan Castle!

...much more to come!
