B-A-N-A-N-A-S

Like me, I'm sure many of you were mystified by the lawsuit Rachel Zoe's camp threatened to throw down on designer Christopher Suave over this T-shirt.

Her attempt at trademarking the phrases "I DIE." and "BANANAS" left me wondering if she was an even bigger egomaniac than I thought, and if that was even possible. A statement released about her future clothing line however, has shed some light on the subject. Guess what? SHE'S CALLING IT, I DIE!!! Duh, you guys. Now it all makes sense.

My Future Looks Bright (?)

I was talking with my post-college-life-sucks-can't-get-a-job-rent-is-too-expensive-where-I-want-to-live friend, Alyx yesterday and she told me that NYC rents are going down! Can you believe it?! I couldn't either! But then, during internet cafe time this morning I stumbled upon this happy couple in an NY times article! I'm going to be as happy as them someday. Just look at those HaRdWooD FloOrS!!!

Extra Ca$h

So Butteryass Mondays, part of a skate website called, The Berrics, has been scheming for a while now. I've learned how to get free Taco Bell, get to the front of the line at Taco Bell, mail something for free, and much more. In this segment, Butteryass Mondays teaches us where we can come up on some more cash and who couldn't use some more cash these days?

OMG OMG: China Fashion Week

Fashon Week China kicked off on Tuesday with a Bang in Beijing! Opening ceremonies included the International Young Fashion Designer contest where more than 20 domestic designers showed off some superbly interesting looks.

Jiang Zhuo's oragami-cutout inspired looks (above) were akin to the adorable winner, Chen Jiawei's, looks which had a similar feel, but took some cues from Elizabethan fashion.

The trend continued at the WSM China Knitwear Design Contest where white tassels and paper-like cutouts reigned supreme.

Fendi and Cavalli aren't the only ones aboard this train, Elle Magazine.

BMW Art Cars Hit NYC

After settling in LA for a bit, the BMW Art Car series opened for view on Tuesday in Grand Central Terminal and will be on view through April 6. The series is composed of 15 BMW models painted by artists like Andy Warhol, David Hockney and Jenny Holzer between 1975 and 2007. My personal fav is the Esther Mahlangu  525i! What's yours?

Spotted.

Gossip Girl stars Ed Westwick and Jessica Szhor canoodling their faces off on a romantic romp in Miami last week. Don't you think it's time to hit the gym, E?

Paris McDonald's NOT Amused By Pharrell Williams' Dance Moves

N.E.R.D. all-star Pharrell Williams charisma and charm go unappreciated on two McDonald's employees at a Paris airport when, in a desperate attempt to order a Big Mac at breakfast time, he breaks out into song and dance.

Yes, Please.

Paris Review: Chloe Fall 2009

In this year's RTW collection, Chloe seemed to be focusing on beauty in the basics. The floral patterns and delicate details we saw last year were absent, save a few scattered pieces. The first group of looks, mainly harem pants and blouses in earth tones and grays, had the going-on-safari feel we saw about six months ago. Starting off a bit bland, a salmon colored blouse with interesting collar detail and tassles, paired with monochrome patterned harem pants and knee high gray suede boots peaked my interest. The look was followed by a top that was eerile similar to a 3.1 Philip Lim dress, but with its own energy. As the collection shifted to a group of black and white looks (a touch of chanel?), the soft edges and delicate velour were a pleasant ending to the show. As this is only Hanna MacGibbon's second show for the label, both collections being solid and well-recieved, hopefully she is settled in and ready to surprise us next time.

Heart Broken

So as many of you know, I'm a buyer at a re-sale clothing store called, Buffalo Exchange. While much of my days are spent sifting through garbage bags full of three year-old, heinous christmas and birthday present rejects from grandma, there are some diamonds in the rough. Mid-day today, an angel came walking through the doors and with her shopping bags full of wonderful gifts. Tory Burch sheath dresses, Knotted & Knitted sweaters, Matty M blouses and more. Greatest of all however, were the handbags. The lot included the Louis V. Speedy 25,
a Chloe West Bay,
TWO Salvatore Ferragamo numbers and the greatest of all, a Jimmy C. Color me middle-class, but for the very first time today, I held a $2,700 Jimmy Choo bag in my arms. I cradled it like a newborn child, staring up and crying out, take me home... But alas, our love (which would have been a steal at $600) was not meant to be. Dare to dream girls, d2d.

There's More Where This Came From!

HA! Just have a taste of what you are going to get when Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters in May 2010. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

What nooowwwww?

So it's been nearly a month since the end of NYC Fashion week, and if you're like me, you're not done thinking about it. Check out how the top dogs feel the week went if you're looking for some closure.

New to Me

In my quest for knowledge, I have decided to start a new, regular post, about designers, people, shops, lines, etc. that are "new to me." For my inaugural post, I will be focusing on Ports 1961.  While I have heard of the line, the 2009 Fashion Week collection has peaked my interest. The line launched in America 2004 under the Creative Direction of Tia Cibani. Check out a short video history here. The Fall 2009 line seems to have matured, yet still, as always, taking the average, modern woman into consideration.  This collection seems to cover all the bases.
From the stewardess-chic jetsetter, to cocktail hour on the beach, to the charity gala, and back home, the collection is a home run.

I don't know if everyone is keeping up with the hot-tranny-mess that is the Real World Brooklyn, but if you have missed a beat, read this amazing recap provided by GAWKER.
