Pulitzer Prizes were announced today and guess who came up with an underdog victory?! Proving that there is more in Mesa, Az. than just Mormons, the East Valley Tribune won a Pulitzer for its series on the evil Sherif Joe Arpaio. The paper is being awarded for its "adroit use of limited resources to reveal in print and online, how a popular sheriff's focus on immigration enforcement endangered investigation of violent crime and other aspects of public safety." Hooray! The NY TImes came out on top with 5 Pulitzers, while the The Las Vegas Sun, The Detroit Free Press, St. Petersburg Times and The San Diego Union-Tribune all came away with prizes. ConGrAtS!!
